Lesley was born in Oxford in 1956 and went to school in Buckingham. She is the youngest of three children and the mother of one. A voracious reader from an early age, Lesley somehow managed to avoid virtually all of the English language literary classics until middle age! Her favourite writers include Ruth Rendell, Phillip Pullman, William Trevor and Alice Munro among (many) others. Lesley learned tap dancing and singing as an adult, and is a keen cyclist, walker and photographer.
Lesley’s two non-fiction books are Hooked Rug Storytelling – The Art of Heather Ritchie (Schiffer, 2011) and Assisted Dying – Who Makes The Final Decision? (Peter Owen, 2014). Her third title, an e-biography of her brother John’s Final Journey, hit the ‘shelves’ in May 2013. She is carrying out some very enjoyable research in to the life of a civil engineer who she hopes will be the subject of her next non-fiction book.
